For those of you that miss the good old days before somebody decided that Big and Rich were country music singers, go to Youtube and type some names in the search box.....Merle, Ray Price, etc.

There are 1000's of old video clips.

I like all kinds of music. My main favorites are Rockabilly and Bluegrass, though.

I like a little bit of today's "country" music, and the older it gets the more of it I like. But, I'll never come off of my belief that REAL country music is banjos and fiddles.

I was very pleased to see this thread resurface. I had been away from country music for a long time and when I came back "New Country" was what I heard. I like new country music as I think it still tells about real people living real lives in the real world. I asked someone what the difference was between "New Country" and "Classic Country and he told me that the difference was that "New Country" is missing the banjo and the fiddle. I'll admit that I had never noticed. I began to listen to "Classic Country" again and I have to agree with you fbama73, true country music has to include these instruments. I have developed a whole new love for classic country music again.
