Sadly Ashley Furniture will be closing down there Johnson City and Knoxville location. They actually had really nice furniture and I hate to see them leave the Tri-Cities and Knoxville.

Not really that shocking since they've been having an "emergency clearance sale" and no one is buying a lot. It was a bad time for them to open more stores. I'm surprised the one in Chattanooga (it replaced the Media Play near Hamilton Place Mall) is still open. . . .

The furniture place down the road from Ashely in Hamilton Place is having a "moving sale" - they just opened 4 months ago - then they just opened the Decorator's Warehouse behind Hamilton Place - don't see a good future for that store.

I noticed the Furniture Warehouse thing in the new Hamilton Place dev. is having the "moving sale." Weird. Sad to see Ashley go, expansion in JC is always tumultuous and fragile and that was sort of like a cornerstone of that little area.

Is it just me or is the new Decorator's Warehouse more expensive, with less good quality stuff, than at their old store in the Kroger strip? I mean really, how many little cutesy signs with folk sayings on them can we handle?

From what I heard - their furniture was nice but very expensive. I never went in - I'm pretty picky about furniture. Where would they be moving to? Would be out of the area if they actually are moving.

I was at Hamilton Place today as they were putting up the sign for the Decorator's Warehouse. I haven't had any desire to go in there.

When I'm ready to buy furniture again I will take the 3.5 hour trip to the new IKEA in Charlotte
