The long and the short of it--That's the truth!

I wouldn't even think of flying into the Tri-Cities airport from SoCal; I fly to Nashville and rent a car.

I have flown over 24 times from St. Peterburg, Fl to Chattanooga,Tn.
I had many flights at $145.00 round trip 2 people.

I did not think this is a rip off!

Trying driving 10 hours each way.

What do you want 10 cent a mile.

Try flying to Atanta.

By way Southwest cost a lot more to fly to nashville, tn
Huh???

You flew Allegiant which is bottom of the barrel pricing. Nashville is easily, on average, the cheapest airport to fly out of in the state. If you fly out of CHA to say....ATL, you would pay a life savings worth. Smaller airports are ALWAYS the most expensive airports to fly out of due to the competition not being there. Airlines can charge premium fares because who else are you going to fly?? See what I mean.

BTW, Nashville is considered a "Hub" or Focus City for Southwest with almost 90 departures a day from here. You will easily get to any major city from here whether it's on Southwest or another carrier (usually on the same plane without changing!!). Nashville has over 450 operations a day and serves approximatly 10 million passengers a year. It's real easy to see how all that happens too, service and fares. Not many airports in cities the size of Nashville can boast about what Nashville International Airport has got. All of us should be very happy to have BNA close by.

Default rip off airports

If you want cheap airfares , direct flights from Florida to TN , then fly Allegiant Airlines You want to fly into a hub , from Tampa TN fly Southwest if money is no object.Tampa to Altanta, fly Allegiant rent car drive to TN save money. I get to visit my cabin every month , flying Allegiant. One hour flying vs 10 hours driving!!!. I can be sitting on top of the mountain , which is 56 miles NW of Chattanooga, while you are still driving from Nashvile.
