Not really. Americans generally prefer their cold drinks cold and their hot drinks hot.

Is there no bottle/can return program in Tennessee?
No there isn't.

I see this as a big boost to the sales of dry ice and CO2 fire extinguishers. Of course, one can just keep an ice chest full of ice in the trunk.

Apparently the bill's sponsor abandoned the proposal.

Why do states like Tennessee waste taxpayer resources on crazy proposals like this? Is there really nothing more to accomplish with state government?

This is not just Tennessee; every government in the United States wastes resources proposing bills that have no hope of passing or are unconstitutional.

Recent examples- NYS seeking to allow illegals to vote in local elections despite it going against their own constitution. Had they reviewed their constitution they would have known.

GM suing San Fransisco for 121 million dollars because they are operating their Cruise robotaxi division in the city. The division is operated separately from GM and that division only brought in 600,000 dollars in 2022. The city contends they should be able to tax GM on global income. How can they make that case? They are going to waste resources defending their position in court and they will surely lose.

Of course, New York's Trump whichhunt is another great example. I am not a Trump fan but this verdict will almost certainly be reversed on appeal. No victims and in fact, the banks he supposedly defrauded were eager for his business and would not hesitate to lend to his company again.

I could go on if I had the time. When you get to be my age you have an understanding that the "best and brightest" do not enter government because they are smart. There are some very stupid people at all levels of government that rose to the top based on their sleazy glad handing and connections.
