I am interested in areas in Manchester and around there. Reason I am interested in looking is because a company I am hired for is in Manchester. I am hoping to relocate to Manchester Tn from Ohio some point.

What is Manchester or Coffee county like, is it beautiful, cost of living decent, would I be able to find a rental or rent to own that allows dogs. No I am not leaving my dogs.

I have no problem driving 30 mins to work at all as well.

1. COLA is decent in Coffee County. Manchester’s population is around 12,000 but they have quite a bit to offer in terms of shopping, eating out, they even have a small but really cool winery.

2. All Creatures Vet for your dogs. Love them when I had out of the ordinary issues with my dogs and my horses

They have four locations. You probably want the one right in Manchester, depending where you end up living.

We have ticks - lots of them. Deer ticks and Lone Star ticks. Deep Woods Off! For you, keep your dogs current on whatever flea tick meds you’ve been using.

3. We are retired in Bedford County, but do most of our shopping in Tullahoma, Coffee County. Medical care is abundant.

4. Even though Arnold AFB is Technically in Tullahoma, I think it might spill into Manchester, so you may see the occasional Black Hawk fly over.

5. Other than Arnold, Coffee County is fairly rural. You should be able to find a rental that accepts dogs without too much trouble. I don’t know any of the agents but if you Google real estate agents in Manchester, TN, Look at their ratings, hopefully you will find one you are comfortable working with

6. Coffee County isn’t without its share of drug problems, but neither is my county, or any of the others. Just be watchful when you do look at rentals and look at the surrounding properties. “Go with your gut” applies

Best wishes on your move!

Thank you. We are familiar with drug activity so we know what to stay away from etc.

https://www.bonnaroo.com/

Bonnaroo Music fest biggest event to happen to Manchester. You can attend or avoid it. Getting to be a bit less of a hassle.

You could count Manchester to be on the edge of Murphysboro then on to Nashville depending what you want to do.

I would also recommend taking a look at Winchester and Tullahoma, the Tims Ford Lake area is very beautiful.

A couple of additional thoughts is whether you have children and your general age. A lot of younger and/or singles tend to live more toward Murfreesboro just due to the more restaurants and shopping there. If you have children, you'll want to look into the school systems. Tullahoma City Schools are not part of Coffee Country Schools.

There are some pretty good places to eat, in Manchester/Tullahoma/Winchester but much more limited than larger cities. Shopping is better in Tullahoma but not nearly as much as Murfreesboro.

Arnold is the economic powerhouse for the area so to speak. It pretty much stretches from Manchester to Tullahoma and covers parts of both Coffee and Franklin Counties. It's presence, along with the University of Tennessee Space Institute add a large demographic of highly educated scientists and engineers alongside highly skilled crafts workers to what would otherwise be a more rural agricultural region.

If you like boating/fishing, there are three large reservoirs in the area -- Tim's Ford, Normandy, and Woods. Technically Woods is on Arnold AFB but has boat ramps open to the public.

Higher Ed: There is Motlow CC for Associate degrees and UTSI for masters & PhD but no bachelors level education in the county.
