Interested to know which towns and areas people like best of the following. I know it's subjective but best to me is a conservative friendly town where you can raise a family and be self sustainable with privacy and not too fast paced or traffic heavy. I grouped some towns together based on location, but pick your favorite if it falls on that group! If there's a standout, let me know why you'd choose it!

These are all places we've talked about moving to and want to hear what draws people to one location or another.

Interesting grouping. I'd vote for Cookeville, but you have Spencer and McMinnville in there which really don't belong, and frankly they drag down the rest of the group. Besides, McMinnville is closer to Manchester and Tullahoma than it is to Sparta and Cookeville. Cookeville is growing rapidly, Tullahoma is also growing. Both have solid economies. McMinnville doesn't, and it shows. So I didn't vote.

Based on your thread from two years ago, Cookeville and Tullahoma are probably your best options. Specifically, I'd look at Livingston which enjoys 10 gig internet (since you work from home, I assume you want fast and reliable internet), it's still relatively inexpensive, and it's just 10-20 minutes from Cookeville's creature comforts depending on where in Livingston/Overton County you end up.

Thanks for the comments. We were planning on moving a couple years back but had a family member with medical support that requires care. We're now back to looking at a move. Livingston and Byrdstown were both top of the list after doing some research but wanted to see what folks thought of other places. Tullahoma was also on our list after talking with some family that live in McMinnville.

Two years ago you said you would be working from home, so if that's still the case then I voted for Livingston and points north of Cookeville because they (along with Cookeville) have 10 gig internet speeds which is the fastest available anywhere. In most of the other areas on your list rural internet is hit or miss and can be painfully slow. Overton and Jackson counties have 10 gig covering the entire counties. I think Clay County does, too which is Celina. Overton and Jackson are developing more as bedroom communities of Cookeville now so they're still close enough that you'd be able to enjoy the amenities that Cookeville provides families like children's museum, children's library, award winning children's theater, youth orchestra, plus all the shopping and medical care.

The city groupings seem straightforward to me. They're talking about general areas with the listed towns as boundaries, not the specific towns themselves.

Does this change your vote?
