Does the Syracuse Area have any research centers or Tech companies focused on renewable energy and power beyond solar and wind? Along with nanotech and electric cars, this category is probably the next sector of the economy that will flourish in my opinion.
Was researching Reva electric car deal over a decade ago. Maybe we could be the north American Headquarters of Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited, which is the new name of Indian based company. If the state is mandating electric vehicles by 2035,then having companies in the state that manufacture them seems logical.
Many current auto manufacturers in the state are likely to manufacture some electric vehicles. So, you have that to consider.
Another thing to consider is that the CEO of Micron is Indian and Syracuse University has seen an increase in Indian students from India going back a decade or so. I believe there some type of relationship between the University and perhaps some government officials in India, as I remember seeing what looked like officials of a South Asian background on campus apparently taking a tour around that same time. So, you could see that company renew interest in bringing that company to the area. If so, I’m curious as to who would be hired and at what levels within the company if they come here.
I'm thinking the next big electric vehicle will be the airplane. Syracuse and Rome both had military bases with airplane infrastructure. If any of that infrastructure is still there, it might be good places to research and test electric airplanes. They could fly over the Cicero swamp and Adirondacks since there is little population or structures there.

Well, they have the drone corridor between Syracuse and Rome that has been in existence for some years now and with testing going on. It became “official” recently. So, this has already been occurring in the area for a little while. https://nuair.org/
Thank You. Yes, good point, electric airplane development is just an evolution of the drone Tech going on here.
