I don't know the whole story but sometime ago a couple new Dunkin Donuts opened up because rumor had it Speedway had something to do with 7-eleven and that Dunkin Donuts locations in Speedways would have to be closed in 2022. Now, someone named "Joe" has bought out many Speedway locations in Syracuse area and is converting them to Mobil (many of these have Dunkin Donuts locations in them). Now in an effort to prevent Dunkin Donuts locations from closing "Joe" is making sure they don't have to close when 2022 comes because his stations will be Mobil Gas Stations not Speedways as the new year comes.
