Gotta give the edge to Sedgwick.

What do you all think?

Thanks for the feedback, as I am considering buying in either area, but leaning on Sedgwick right now. I know that there are other better areas in the Cuse (Dewitt, Fayetteville, Manlius, Camillus), but I prefer the lower taxes.

I like both, but what I think gives Sedgwick the edge is its proximity to a corridor with good public transportation coverage(James Street).

Another “old money S” neighborhood in the city that you want to look into is Scottholm on the East Side. Not too far from Syracuse University/University Hill, Le Moyne College or Westcott Street.

It is next to Meadowbrook and some may consider it to be a subneighborhood of the Meadowbrook neighborhood. Bradford Hills/Heights(DeWitt side/portion) is similar. That (sub)neighborhood is located behind Nottingham High/along Euclid Avenue south of Meadowbrook Drive. It is another middle/upper middle class area.

Another similar (sub)neighborhood in that corridor that comes to mind is the Shotwell Park/Melrose Ave. area of Eastwood. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0646...7i13312!8i6656
Census Block Group 001702-1 in Onondaga County, New York
northern portion of this block group: Census Block Group 001702-2 in Onondaga County, New York

It is SE of Sedgwick...This road is just to the east of Sedgwick and is north/across James Street from Melrose Ave.: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0668...6!9m2!1b1!2i40
In this block group: Census Block Group 000900-1 in Onondaga County, New York

Also, in terms of Strathmore, there is also the nearby Winkworth neighborhood in the outer SW corner of the city. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0272...6!9m2!1b1!2i40
Census Block Group 004800-2 in Onondaga County, New York
In between/bridging Winkworth and Strathmore: Census Block Group 004800-1 in Onondaga County, New York

It is next to Bellevue Country Club and a portion of the neighborhood actually goes into the town of Onondaga(Westhill SD).

No problem and if there any other questions, just ask. I say that, because there may be other neighborhoods within the city that you could be interested in, if you are open to other parts of town.

That Scottholm area is great...too bad not many houses for sales. It makes sense because its a great spot to live. Thanks again !

Where would you buy ???? I have about 200k (low end) to 400k (high end) to spend. But, its just me, so don't really need a big house, just want a dynamic area. I like Dewitt and Fayettville (less crime), but I am open to Camillus (probably the best suburb outside of Dewitt and Fayettville). I think Sedgwick and Strathmore are too ghetto (not trying to be mean, but that I was I see, and have experienced so far in these area). Same with University area, just too ghetto and college kids drinking on the porch. SMH. Silly rabbits spend all that money to go to school and drink it away.

I would appreciate all feedback on this !

Thanks !
