I’m stationed down in Arkansas and I come back every couple of months. Not sure if you consider that moving away and back, but it’s pretty close. I mean I could just take vacation and go out west, or stay in AR for the duration of my contract. But I always come back. Mostly to connect with friends, but also because i like the vibe of Syracuse.
A few hours from NYC, close to Lake Ontario/Oneida Lake, destiny USA. All 4 seasons, nice highway infrastructure that runs directly N/S, and E/W. Always something going on at Syracuse University. Lots of nice roads out in the country side to drive/ride during the summer months. You don’t have to drive 2 hours to get to a nice road like you have to in AR. I guess the only downside of Syracuse is how frequently it rains, and how the big snow storms usually miss the city.
Arkansas also sucks. No big lakes, half a** mountains, horrible interstate system, either humid and hot or ice cold. No snow, tons of rain during the winter months, some tornados during the spring.
I'm giving serious thought to moving back to Syracuse. I currently live in Tampa, and as much as I enjoy the weather I can only take so much of the bad drivers, pessimism of transplants, and the overall lack of a homey feel, not to mention that coaching wrestling at SU was an unforgettable experience. I am currently working on schooling to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), which is a very high demand position, so we'll see.

I think if you want to come back, that you could find something in that field.
Unfortunately, SU doesn’t have a wrestling program anymore.
They have a club team. I worked with them the last time I was up there.
Wow, that is cool...I wonder if it could make a comeback in the future as a Varsity sport.
