Thanks, do you have any updates about these projects
Northside Genesee Associates LLC has received the city's approval to build a 286-unit apartment building on East Genesee Street, between Walnut Avenue and Pine Street, in Syracuse. The buildings on the right would be demolished to make way for the new apartment
Still in the area but I don't always follow everything
I liked the look of the apartment proposed 5 years ago, too bad it was opposed. If Syracuse was filled with buildings like this I would be more inclined to recommend it as a good place to live since it would become less depressing

I think the problem with that proposed development besides the "hyper density" is twofold from how I see it. One, college enrollment has been on the decline for a while and in turn, you may have issues with filling it with students. So, it would have to be open to a range of people. Second, to be honest, it is too uniform in design. A place being "depressing" will be subjective and most people don't get out of depression due to the look of a building necessarily, but if they can find a suitable place to live.
With that said, that block has been cleared for the most part and will be getting developed in the near future.
I think we've been through this topic before but I disagree. Cities are made up of buildings and attractive cities are made up of attractive buildings.
Today, Cornerstone Crossing has been revised to include more apartments. The original plan called for 18 to 20 and then was changed to more than 70. Now Goodfellow said he’s looking at 82 to 91 one and two-bedroom apartments on the upper floors of the 146,000-square-foot building.
^Haven't heard anything about that development. I’m wondering if there is anything on the town of Dewitt website though.
