Well, it is the last day of the NYS Fair and it looks like they will get a record attendence for this year. To top it off, to enter, it is only $1. So, it looks like there will be quite a few people there for the last day. Having good weather likely played a part in regards to the high attendence nimbers this year.
Just curious, but does anyone know why there isn't a monthly Art Walk in Syracuse like there is in many other cities in Upstate NY?
Also, would it be a good idea for other neighborhood commercial districts to have a festival similar to the Westcott Cultural Festival? Could it also be possible or a good idea for a neighborhood to have a day a month where they shut a portion of the business district down for activities. It would essentially make something like the Westcott Cultural Festival a monthly thing during the warmer months and could possibly be a way to generate interest, while increasing the amount of people and commerce to that business district.
Perhaps it could rotate to a different neighborhood/business district on a different month similar to Jazz In the City. So, let's say James Street in Eastwood does it on the 1st Sunday in May from 1-7 PM, North Salina on the North Side does it in June, Tipp Hill has something July, South Salina Street in the Valley in August, Westcott in September and maybe Franklin Square/Inner Harbor in October. There are probably other places in the city it could be done as well. I just wondered if that would be a good idea for something different to attract people and interest in different parts of the city. This could be used to help determine how to approach this idea: City of Syracuse -> TNT Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today

We ain't fully out of Oneida yet and we have had three murders within sight in less then a year. Might only be two murders cause I think the one woman lived.
Ahhhhhhhhhh, the joys of small town living in Upstate NY.
This latest murder was close. And by close I mean CLOSE.
We know what the two scums look like so after work I threw some buck in a 12ga hoping to find them in my house but no luck.
