The best bakery is Holland Farms in Yorkville Holland Farms coffee
They have my second favorite half moon/ black and white cookie. The absolute best is Hemstrought's which is out of Utica, but you can buy them at Chanatry's. I love that store and if I am ever within 10 miles of there, I have to stop.

That is good and Hemstrought's is where the Black and White cookie started. There's a BBQ Stand in Yorkville I have to go to, but I can't remember the name of it.

Hemstrought's used to be all over. Every Friday I'd go with my Grandmother to get the weeks baked goods in N. Utica and she would get me a half-moon.

Anyone passing though Oneida beware of the smell of cherry smoked brisket.

This is a crazy ton of fun.

My smokers is a POS by many standards but its a ton of fun for under a 100 bucks. just be prepared for people to laugh at your smoker til they get a wiff. Then they will be your................punk!!!

The papers is pretty negative today, especially with so many out of town guest in the city right now. Two of the main stories are how graduates are having to look out of state for work and how there is no reason for people to come to Syracuse so there is no need for a hotel or convention center. You would think the paper would want to put a positive spin in things when there might be more people reading the paper this weekend.

I haven't read the paper but I agree... I do NOT understand why people badmouth an area *they have chosen* to live in, especially one with so much recent growth.

The grass is always greener...

And this overcast day is annoying. It LOOKS like rain but I haven't seen a drop - I NEED it! - and it doesn't even smell like rain. :/

The farmers' market was PACKED this morning, however... a LOT of upper-upperclass looking people, presumably in town for graduation. In particular, an extremely large group of extremely tall, blonde, skinny northern Europeans. lol - I'm just shy of 6 feet myself and they positively *towered* over me. lol - I'm not used to that! They had very hushed tones, as a matter of habit, and kept asking me how much things were because the vendors either couldn't hear them or they weren't loud enough to get their attention. haha! I have NO problem with not being loud enough. They kept asking me to take pictures of them with the Amish and weren't quite understanding the back-and-forth... both me saying the Amish wouldn't want it/reassuring them that I would NOT take their pictures and explaining it to The Tall. Interesting morning. :P

It is drizzling over here. Not much, but just enough to keep me from cutting the grass. It wouldn't be that bad except for the retiree next door has nothing better to do than cut his grass three times a week which makes mine looked even more haggard.
