Wife & I have finally decided on a 3 bedroom apt. at The Hammocks at Timberbanks in Baldwinsville. We plan on moving in March 2011 when newest building will open.
Would love to here from anyone living there what they think of life there.
Rooms look a little small but should be ok for retirees like us.
I live in the area..and have driven past, and into, Timberbanks on several occassions. In some respects it looks very nice; in other respects i don't get it.
Not sure where you are moving from, but you may be aware that it snows here....a lot! The apartments 'look' very upscale, but if you don't get a garage you are going to HATE winter.
Hate to burst your bubble...and curious how the residents have dealt with this...plus, where do you store anything?
we are moving from New York City and since we will be retired, snow does not bother us either as to the amount or duration of the snow season. Our daughter has lived in Syracuse for two years and we have twin grand-daughters 14 months old, thus the attraction.
We have been assigned a garage and as a one-car family, that is enough.
As far as storage, we have our own "storage area" 6' x 6' on our floor.
I don't know your age or family situation, but we don't need the space a younger family with children require.
Finally, we will rent for a year and if the Patio Homes and Villas sell, we may purchase a home down the road. Having a Pool, Golf Course, and Clubhouse and a great walking trail by the Seneca River also add to the attraction of the property. We looked at Raddisson, but did not like the idea of the hugeness of the community and having to drive "miles" to get to the pool.
Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated.

We looked at single family homes in Timberbanks and loved the area and its potential. I commend you for wanting to be near your granddaughters. They sure will grow fast. Best wishes to you.
