I will be starting a home daycare once we move to CNY. Which town would be my best bet business wise?

I think it depends on the kind of childcare provider you are... but somewhere in the northern suburbs (North Syracuse, Cicero, Liverpool and Clay) would be your best bet in terms of demand and likelihood of well-paying, stable parents. East Syracuse could work as well but the issue there is that the children are eligible for free, public preschool at at 2 and up... so you'd have a lot of babies and after school care. But- you may appreciate the break.??

I agree...The Northern suburbs would be good due to the factors proulxfamily mentioned.

You might be able to do in the Western suburbs due to the fact that the school districts there don't have Pre-K, if I'm not mistaken.

Default Have you considered Oneida/Sherrill area?

I'm not sure what you consider CNY, but the Sherrill/Oneida area is lovely and there are very, very few child care providers. The city of Oneida is down to just one center day care center & the mayor is a super guy who is trying to help bring business to the city. Sherrill is a smaller town next door, beautiful (especially the Kenwood area), with affordable houses, a super elementary school & plenty of things to do. The area is not a high income area, but there are plenty of middle class people who work at the casino, oneida limited or commute to Utica or Syracuse who need and can afford good quality care. Just thought I'd mention that CNY encompasses far more than just the Syracuse suburbs ! It's beautiful out here...
