I looked up 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5I and it said they use NGK spark plugs. How do I choose which ones to buy?
  1. NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug (IFR5E11) $16.99
  2. NGK Ruthenium HX Spark Plug $13.99
  3. NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plug (FR5AP-11) $11.99
  4. NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (BKR5EIX-11) $9.99
  5. NGK G-Power Platinum Spark Plug (BKR5EGP) $4.79
  6. NGK V-Power Spark Plug $3.99
  7. NGK Standard Spark Plug (BKR5ES-11) $3.99

Take one out of a cylinder in your vehicle, look at it, determine what it is.. Buy the same thing.

As I have to remove the battery and/or air intake valve, I was hoping to avoid all that trouble.

My point was put the same thing back in.. I am not a believer in 'upgrading' the plugs that come with the vehicle.

it's pretty rare nowadays for OEM plugs to be junk. Or to get much of an increase out of a stock vehicle by upgrading the plugs.

"Reach" and "heat range" are the 2 most important aspects (other than obvious thread pitch and install torque.)

Seems like you've got it covered now but I would look at Subaru model specific forum to see what others with your model and vintage would suggest. Generally, you'll want to buy plugs that are pre-gapped for the specs for your motor. I would also consider copper plugs if you want more power but will change them more frequently (much easier with an I-4 compared to a boxer). So in the case of a Subbie, I would probably go with the plugs that have the longest life since changing them is a pain. Don't forget the anti-seize.
