We visited Daufuskie a couple years ago and have a bit of an interest in a second home at Haig Point. Wondering if anyone can comment on how things are going there these days.

Default still wondering

I'm still wondering about this - does anyone on this forum happen to live there? Based on what I've learned about the cost of living there it would be our full-time post-retirement home, selling both MN homes to move to a warmer climate in a location that is not high density, heavy traffic living.

Haig Point is the only surviving development. Melrose is an abandoned ghost town. There has been some redevelopment lately with several homes and the restaurant and pool are back open. But probably 1/3 of the homes are dilapidated, the HUGE beachfront club is abandoned and the golf course is also abandoned. Bloody point is basically just some large beachfront homes with few amenities. Full time living here would seem difficult since there are no stores. You either need to use the ferry or your own boat with a car on the mainland to resupply.

We love it there. But only to visit. I don’t think I would want to live there full time.
