What's with the Ohio to SC connection?
In Florida everybody was from NY or NJ. I don't think I ever met people from Ohio.
In SC everybody seems to be from Ohio. Why not FL or GA or NC, TX etc? The weather in SC, NC, and GA are very similiar.
I would look in the Myrtle Beach area, and get a seasonal job. I would save, save, and save for the slow months of Nov through Feb. Plenty of serving jobs that should bring in good tips.
I have been heavily looking into moving to South Carolina from Ohio. I have been mainly looking at Columbia, Walterboro, Charleston, and Beaufort. I need some help deciding which place would be a good spot to move to. I want to try and move as close to the ocean as I can but it looks pretty pricey the closer you get. I do not have a degree but I do have some work experience in many fields. Any suggestions ok somewhere either on my list or not that I should look at that has good job opportunities and is "affordable" for a young person like myself?
Well if you go towards Summerville you can look into jobs at Boeing or Mercedes Benz or any of the other companies in the area. Summerville is about 1/2 hour to 45 mins from the beach due to traffic. You haven't said what skills you have but and this is important, do not move without a job to whatever area you choose.

The Panhandle has a lot of Ohio transplants. There are several bars in know that host OSU football parties.
I thought about moving to FL but seems to have wayyy to many sink holes . To the person that said NC weather is similar to SC or GA , I dont think so . NC gets alot more snow than SC .

Sink holes are mainly in the center of the state. There's no sink holes at the beach. Either way it's a freak occurance that makes the news. You'd be just as likely to be hit by lightning.
There is is a huge difference between fl and sc IMO.
Very little change of seasons(pretty much only 2). Extremely flat, and overdeveloped concrete everywhere you look especially on the coastlines. 4 lanes of standstill traffic through the winter months. There are many more differences that I've found between the two, but these few stick out pretty far.
SC(Charleston area) is pretty much what I always hoped Florida would be like.
Everyone I've ever met that has moved to Florida, has left(including myself). Literally everyone.
I haven't heard many stories of people moving to SC and then moving again.

This is funny to me. Lol. I am originally from Ohio and South Carolina and Tennessee were some of the options for relocation, but I ended up choosing Kentucky. I think my next move will be to Florida, but South Carolina is an attractive option as well. Not sure what the connection is, but when living in Ohio there were so many people I knew who would vacation in Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach.
