thanks Veronika. I was hoping they would send a regret email or letter if its a negative decision. But the interviewer said she should hear back something in 2 to 3 days. So, not sure whats going on.

Hopefully she will at least hear back something from the HR regarding the outcome.

thanks for your input.

Hari

That actually sounds pretty hopeful. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her!

She didn't get it.

The next (and last) communication you'll get from Amazon will be a Dear John email once they have finished performing their 2nd and 3rd round interviews, and ultimately hire someone. You won't hear from them until they've got their person picked out and signed. She didn't make it to round 2.

Give Amazon credit for one thing: They at least email you to thank you for taking the time and to let you know the status of their process when they're done. Most companies these days from everything I see just let you sit in the void without ever communicating with you again.

My husband said he has not experienced your situation. He said in his group and others that the follow up really is usually 2-3 days. They have a pretty lock tight process they follow. If it's been two weeks and you have heard nothing, he said it's possible that someone involved in the hiring process got sick, has been out on vacation or has left the company. He suggested you keep calling back until you get word from someone. Good luck.

In my recent interviewing experiences, this has been common. HR departments are so overwhelmed and taking forever (if they ever do,) to contact the people who didn't get the job. Even high profile companies that would do so in the past.

At two weeks, I'd say she didn't get it.

Its been 2 weeks as of today and no news yet. She called the HR mid last week and left a message and still no response. Should we take this as a negative news at this point?? or does the initial screening sometimes takes longer. She has not heard anything negative yet.

Any Amazonians or anyone familiar with Amazon interview process, please shed some light.

Nitin - I sent you an PM this morning.

thanks

Amazon contacted me for a position that both I and the hiring manager felt I was not a good fit for...so they tossed my resume back into the basket and sent the official rejection email....they just contacted me again for another opportunity 2 days ago so don't be disgruntled....continue to follow up until you get official "NO"...I would assume that person either dropped the ball, fired/quit, or put that position on hold....

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the encouraging mails and suggestions. Our son got sick and we were pretty busy with him for the last week or so. Anyways, she has been getting calls from other places too. But, nothing has panned out so far. We will follow up with Amazon again and see if they are held up due to anything.

thanks again all)
