Hi Everyone,

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend.



THURSDAY - SATURDAY

Sarasota Open Pickleball Tournament -- benefits the Humane Society, $50 registration fee to play, 7125 Fruitville Rd (east of I-75).



FRIDAY

Lakewood Ranch's Music on Main -- live music, street vendors, activities. 6 - 9 pm, Lakewood Ranch's Main Street.

Empty Bowls Luncheon -- fundraiser for Food Bank of Manatee. Participants get a unique soup bowl to keep, various soups served 11 am - 1 pm, $35/person, Lakewood Ranch's Main Street.

North Jetty Food Truck Rally -- food trucks, games. 5 - 9 pm, North Jetty Park on Casey Key Rd in Nokomis.

First Friday -- party in downtown Sarasota. Theme is "Art & Jazz on Palm." Gallery walk, live jazz music, giveaways, light bites & beverages, 7 - 10 pm.






FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Festival of the Skeletons -- hosted by Bradenton's Village of the Arts. Entertainment, art, arts & crafts, food vendors. Fri 6 - 9:30 pm, Sat 11 am - 6 pm. 1227 12th St W, Bradenton.

Venice Art Festival -- downtown Venice, along W. Venice Ave, 100+ vendors, 10 am - 5 pm.




FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Gem, Jewelry & Bead Show -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm, $5/adult.

Sarasota Boat Expo -- boats, fishing gear. Robarts Arena at the Sarasota county fairgrounds, Fri & Sat 10 am - 6 pm, Sun 10 am - 5 pm, tickets $6/adults, ages 12 & under get in free.




SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

Ferrari's at St. Armand's Circle -- on display 10 am - 4 pm.

Mullet Smoke-Off -- smoked mullet, mullet toss, arts & crafts, activities. 10 am - 4 pm, Seabreeze Park, Terra Ceia Island in north Manatee county.

St. Jude's Hispanic Fall Festival -- cultural food, dance. St. Jude Catholic Church, 3930 17th St, Sarasota, 10 am - 6 pm, free admission.

Rockin' Lobster Beach Party @ Sharky's on the Pier -- lobster, drinks, music, festival. Fund raiser. 6 - 11 pm, Venice Pier, $260/person.

La Marche Bohemien Market -- vintage clothing, repurposed furniture & other items, art, hand made jewelry, etc. Five Points Park in downtown Sarasota, 10 am - 5 pm.

Celebrity Softball Game & Concert -- headliner country music star Rodney Atkins. Other players from MLB, NFL, TV, radio, movies. Fundraising event. $45/adult - includes game & concert. CoolToday Park, North Port.

UTC Fit -- free exercise class at The Green at UTC mall, 9:30 am.

Englewood Mullet Fest -- smoked mullet, crafts, music. 10 am - 10 pm, 4560 Tamiami Trail South in Punta Gorda.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

FL International Air Show -- at the airport in Punta Gorda. Tickets $15 - $75. Info at: https://www.floridaairshow.com/

Dusty's All Star Circus -- circus show at Sarasota's Sahib Shrine Event Center, 6000 N. Beneva Rd. Show times Fri 4:30 & 7 pm, Sat 2, 4:30 & 7 pm, Sun 2 & 4:30 pm. Tickets $20/adult, $10/child or $45/family (2 adults & up to 4 children).

Sarasota Medieval Fair -- each weekend in November. Fair maidens, knights, jesters & more. Woods of Mallaranny in Myakka City - State Rd 70 approx 13 miles east of I-75. 10 am - 5:30 pm. Varied ticket prices, free parking.




SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Wellen Park Farmers Market -- 9 am - 1 pm.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- 2023 season is over, back next winter.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote
Last show of this season.

Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.

Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle -- free event, people gather about an hour before sunset.

Brunch on the Bay -- catered by area restaurants, University of So FL Sarasota - Manatee campus courtyard, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, ticket info call (941) 359-4603.

Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club's Gulf Coast Cycle Fest -- rides of 16 to 100 miles, meet up at 8100 Lakewood Ranch Main Street at 7 am.

Just a quick reminder: Saturday night we set the clocks back one hour.

Anyone else totally over having to reset clocks twice a year for the time changes?
