It really does! It's filled in quite a bit and, despite the very low height limits, it has a nice variation of building Heights.

I actually think Sacramento has a much nicer looking skyline than San Jose's. Granted, it's not in the airport's flight path so the buildings can be taller. The overall building styles are more attractive though. I've ridden Amtrak into downtown Sacramento before and walking out of the train station, the skyline is actually pretty impressive.

I also like downtown SJ and think the skyline has improved quite a bit over the last few years. I'm not delusional about downtown SJ though like "some people" are in this forum.

It reminds me of Washington, DC with all of the buildings at the height limit and lots of cranes.

Downtown Sac has way fewer high rises than Downtown SJ.

"Nice looking" and "has more and taller buildings" is not at all the same thing.

Yup, pretty much.

I find both cities to be attractive in their own ways. I think Sacramento has a more aesthetically appealing skyline. "Somebody" else in this forum has a relentless obsession with downtown SJ though...and is always attempting to prove how it's better than every other city in the world in every way.

I actually do think that downtown SJ does look good from certain angles, despite its height restrictions. "The Topper", ahem "Somebody" didn't even pick the best vantage point to view downtown in his links. I'm surprised because I thought he knew his way around the city better based on his countless downtown SJ threads/posts.

In my opinion, the best views of downtown SJ are at street level, from the east foothills, or from driving along I-280...to each their own though. I personally think the views from north of downtown actually make it look the worst.
