I'm the OP. Here's your answer: the wife can swallow a one day marijuana festival, assuming it's only a small part of a larger trip that is based on doing other things that she is actually interested in.

Whereas she would not be interested in going to a three day festival, and would not even want to go on the trip at all.

Having said that, as the date gets closer, if anyone gets any more info on 420 on Hippie Hill 2024 (i.e. what musical artists will be performing and etc) then feel free to share! Thanks to all and I hope that everyone who is reading this is having a good day!

If you’re interested in music (or anything beyond getting blazed), why not - especially since you have to travel. You don’t have to go all three days, lol; just go one, and you can kill two birds with one stone, so-to-speak.

It is just a suggestion. Heh, if you’re laser-focused on 420, do that.

Didn’t you say you went last year? I think it’s one of the first times they had so much as a DJ, now that it is actually authorized. Don’t look for much in the way of performing artists as it’s not a music festival and it’s free; that’s my point (although you’ll pay for very limited parking). It’s simply a (much smaller) ‘gathering’ i.e. mostly ‘kids’ (21+) getting blazed. A different crowd, to be sure; but, as they say in CD, you do you. Enjoy!

That's the draw. Plus the stoners at 4/20 don't have to plan ahead and buy a ticket, which is not their strongest suit usually.

I can't decide if I think you're a used car salesman, or a publicity agent for Outside Lands lol

We just so happened to be in San Francisco last year and attended, and it was a great time. Thinking about traveling to SF this year to attend again, but I don't see any specific info online about this year's event. Does anyone happen to have any info about it?

I live in the City and know the various events/music festivals the Bay Area has to offer. I don’t consider 420 on Hippie Hill an ‘event’, and I made a suggestion I thought you’d enjoy as cannabis brands and cultivators are still represented (since clearly you’re into that sort of thing).

Didn’t you start the thread for comments relative to such?

To be fair to the OP, he specifically asked about 4/20, not other cannabis-related events.

‘To be fair’, the OP is also under the impression there will be musical artists of note performing. Why the pushback from the two of you over something so inconsequential? If all he has in mind is to come from Arizona (or wherever) to get blazed with a bunch of kids 21+, then he should do that, lol. My bad for giving him the benefit of the doubt. :-)

OP - enjoy!

Did you click the link someone gave you earlier? Their website still shows info for the 2023 show. I guess someone is still stoned!

It might be interesting to go, then head down Haight St to see how things have drastically changed from back in the day. When I first moved to S.F. in the early 80's, Hippie Hill was a thing. There were coffeehouse/restaurants on Haight St that served stuff like large bowls of granola, had bookshelves full of books you could borrow for free, and albums you could browse and put on their turntable to play if you wished. Then things began to change. Seeing the Red Vic go and an actual bank open on Haight St, those were jaw droppers. People were constantly stealing the Haight/Ashbury street signs down by the Free Clinic too. One day I saw saw someone I used to work with in New Orleans sitting down to eat in a Haight St cafe window. Not being nostalgic, but I miss those days. S.F. was a lot more fun.
