Those of us who live here see it every day.
That one thinks he knows it all from what he's read in the liberal media. I keep referring people to check out the videos on youtube that show what really is happening. My cousin left after living there 40 yrs - he couldn't take it anymore.

I don't think even the most liberal media could swallow some of the whoppers he's been peddling.

"Unless you live downtown and specifically the tenderloin, Union Square area, and Embarcadero...no, you're not experiencing any of this."

"The vast majority that live in San Francisco never see anything of the sort." <- in reference to tents on the street.

I'd love so see him try and defend that second statement.

Sure but it’s more about what the vast majority of personally responsible people allow and vote for that’s the issue.

I'm not sure why you go on to talk about credit scores, bachelor degrees and the median income of 2-earner families.
You'd enjoy living in a developing country. It's all about "personal responsibility". Cops do nothing, everyone has a wall with an electric fence atop it and several locked gates to get in. Citizens of those countries would faint to see a typical U.S. house with glass panels next to the front door and no protection from the street. Gangs demand "protection" money from businesses. Bribery is rampant.

You can't walk the streets with a phone in your hand. Some motorcyclist will whoosh by and snatch it.

Check it out for the ultimate in "personal responsibility"....

I don't even know where to start with such a silly "argument".

Maybe take a peek at some youtube videos - despite what some think on here - they are legit and are from all over the world. The news themselves post on youtube so it's not just independent vloggers saying what they think you want them to say. It's an eye opener to see what goes on in these countries that so many on here think are great.

Nothing silly about the argument - what's silly is people not wanting to be informed - and when you follow just one train of thought and believe everything hook, line and sinker - you dumb yourself down.

You can look at this forum from 15 years ago, and will find the same problems. And 18Montclair posting the same stuff, LoL.

Really all of this was in the making, SF was destined to fail. But Covid expedited it. It exposed liberal Political leaders as the Autocrats, charlatans, grifters, and hypocrits that they are.

California voted for Bernie sanders the last democratic primary. It's filled with nutbag socialists, who think they are being fleeced by business, when they are actually getting fleeced by big government.

I don't think "the nation" has ever seen San Francisco as its dreams. For a brief period in the Sixties some young people saw it as the Emerald City in Oz, maybe. In the '70s it had some attraction for me but in the '80s I was so glad I hadn't listened to its siren song (don't even remember now what exactly the siren song was way back then).
I doubt any other US city has ever envied San Francisco, let alone NYC. And for that matter, NYC is not the envy of other cities it sometimes seems to think it is.
Too many earthquakes in San Francisco.
Too much human excrement on the sidewalks.
I feel sorry for San Francisco these days. I hope it can improve itself.

2-earner families in the Bay Area make more money than anywhere else in the country.

Urban Areas by Median Income, 2-Earner Families, 2022($125,000+)
What's the source for the Median Income figures? I ask because I live in one of the highest-income counties in the entire country, yet not a single community within my county is listed. I'm curious as to where these numbers came from, and how they were determined.
