Every night we have these black beetles on our patio door, outside windows and everywhere. I mean many many beetles. What can we do? Does anyone else have this problem and give us suggestions what are these beetles how to get rid of them. A few have even got in the house but we sweep up huge dustpans of beetles and have to spray them but even after sprayed they are still on backs in the morning alive we need advice badley on this issue.

Size, shape, pic, ... all would help a lot in terms of figuring out what they are and what to do.

Do you have your blinds/curtains open at night or do you have a bright white light outside? Put a bug light outside your back door (yellow glow will not attract them) and make sure your blinds, shades, curtains, etc are closed.

Beetles like decomposing wood/leaves/bark so maybe getting rid of that would help.

I've noticed more "click beetles" in the house this summer. I see a couple a week, they seem to be harmless so I catch them and throw them out.

They are black, somewhat long and slender beetles, and will click or pop when you come near them. The dogs enjoy playing with them.
