Wonder how many new coastal transplants this will attract? I figure at least a gazillion. A New Utah is taking shape before our very eyes. Better get used to it.

The WSJ hasn't heard of something called gerrymandering. Also, the geographic concentration of of the transplants will mean that their impact on the political primacy in this state will be minimal. This is an unfortunate fact that everyone living here must accept.

All of those people seemed to have existing Utah ties, and some of them seemed LDS, to be honest.

People in LA see a million dollar home as a starter.

The article does not mention the regular John Doe but does mention one couple who have their own business and are/were very successful with it.

This "phenomenon" (Successful people moving into Utah) has been going on for umpteen years now, where successful business people from California have been relocating their abode and often their complete business to Utah!

When we did that 30 some years ago, our operating cost was way less, in Utah, and thus could do more things, like expand.

Concerning the real estate costs going up like crazy is not just the result of newcomers willing to pay but started with the "GREED" from the local Utah people!~
