I'm a native Chicagoan currently living in Champaign, IL. I may be offered a job at the SLC airport and was wondering what the cost of living is like there? As for a neighborhood to live in, we'd be looking for a good high school for our teenage daughter, a Lutheran Missouri-Synod Church and preferably a 3-bedroom home under $300,000. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had kids in high school for a number of years, so I'll defer to someone else on that question. I found 15 Lutheran Churches in the Salt Lake City area. Use this site to check them out. I'm afraid I can't tell you whether they're a part of the Missouri-Synod or not, but my guess is that some of them are. Once you determine what area you want to live in, we could help you figure out which of these churches is the closest (if you can't tell by the zipcode). You should be able to find a decent 3-bedroom home for under $300,000 here. If you move here, it will undoubtedly require some adjustments. We're not Chicago by any means. I don't know if that's good or bad , but Salt Lake City is a good place to live. Good luck on that job!
