Also 64. I’m sitting in an airport and will be flying from St. Louis to Florida to sell my house there and move back “home” to the Midwest. I’m getting close to curtailing my travel by air as it’s just not much fun anymore.

I’m not a nervous flyer but the stuff leading up to it is so unpleasant. And I have some aches and pains that make those tiny airplane seats very very uncomfortable.

Part of my reason for moving back to the Midwest is because I will be near family and friends there. Less travel in my future!!

I’ve been traveling for work and leisure for 20+ years. I’m so over it

So no red eyes for me!

We had to stop when Covid came along. My husband was 80 years old. We would take a cheapo flight to England every few years. (He was English.) I'll be 80 this year and I'd still be traveling if I still had my husband but he passed away last year.

My grandmother used to go back to England in her 80s. It's no big deal. My grandmother went by ship so it was much easier but we roughed it and would have done so much more often if we could have afforded to. We used to board the plane in late afternoon/evening and just sleep or watch movies during the flight. When we got to England it would be morning and we'd grab our rental car and drive for a while because we felt sort of rested and daylight was a good time to be driving. Then we'd check into a motel or hotel on the early side and go to bed early.
