I've lived in 3 states and kept my medgap plan throughout. Mine covers everything, and is easy to deal with.

Advantage plans are often localized, so you lose them if you move.
That's one of the few ways you can switch from an Advantage plan to Medigap, though you can go the other way without restriction.
