I paid to see Paul McCartney shortly before the pandemic. And that's literally all I wanted to do: see Paul McCartney. When he came out on stage, I admit there was a little thrill; after all, I was actually seeing Paul McCartney! Then the awful noise/music started. Within minutes, my ears were ringing, and I was sure I was already losing some of my precious hearing. Tall idiots were standing up in front of me, swaying and singing and waving their iPhones in the air to record it rather than sitting down and experiencing it. I couldn't see a thing, and eventually I couldn't stand the cacophany anymore. If Paul was actually singing with what's left of his poor, ruined voice, I never heard it... Then the pyrotechnics began, probably to distract from that poor, ruined voice -- over which those backup singers were singing anyway. After about 20 minutes, I couldn't take the chaos anymore, so I just left.
We saw Sir Paul at Citi Field in 2009 and upper deck side-view seats were over $100 at the time. I guess that translates to about $200 in today's dollars.
I think you can still see Ringo and his All Starr Band a lot cheaper.
He is coming to my area in May. I can get advance tickets.
It opened today at 10 AM for cardholders with Amex.
I didn't get a chance - there's only 7000 seats - so I was surprised tonight when I looked some were available.
Then, I clicked on a seat and saw the price. Yikes!
Anywhere from $1150 to $5850 - I'm sure there were ones way more than that.
My husband was shocked at the $1150 but I won't pay that for the seats where they are. Just would be nice to see such an icon. I don't think I've paid over $180 for a ticket. (PS - I tried to tell him this would be a great gift but he did not take the bait) - LOL.
I mean, it's a once in a lifetime.....I know people who went to see Mick Jagger back in 2020 but it was at a huge stadium. I think it holds 80,000 but not sure. Sold out. And it rained but everyone I spoke to said it was awesome and a lot of those people were in their 40's.
Note: I posted this in this forum because most remember or would want to see Paul McCartney.
I hesitated to pay $80 for Larry the Cable Guy, but if somebody paid me $10,000 to go see McCartney, I'd probably do it for that, but definitely not for less.
I remember going to see Chicago at the Orange Bowl - we sat on blankets, danced, mid 1970's, it was awesome. Then, trying to find our car 18 blocks away was fun at 1 AM. You know the area LOL.
Paul is at Hard Rock but I thought it was part of the casino in Hollywood not the big stadium.
Loved Wings also.
I can't believe I never saw the Bee Gees (favorite) or Paul. And I live in South Florida where we had some great concerts!!
That would have a cool Zeppelin concert too. We had wonderful music.
Yep...Miami for 55 years!
ZEPPELIN 6/3/77.....Unfortunately they only played 5 songs before they cancelled the show because of rain.
A riot ensued with angry fans...Tampa police came into the stadium with billy clubs...I remember seeing a lot of bloody faces.
Is sad that the last concert I went to was KISS...11 years ago,at the precursor to the Hollywood Live place.
It was 5500 seats and there were A LOT of empty seats.
Remember SHE and ZETA4?..Rock N Roll Never Forgets!

I am wrestling with that, too. The advance ticket codes NEVER work.
I guess the one thing I am happy to see is that maybe the artist is getting the money now instead of resellers. They still get a big piece of the action. Resellers OWNED BY TICKETMASTER (which is a disgusting monopoly and should be shut down by the US Justice Dept) were on sites 5 minutes after the presale started.
I think I will sit this one out. I have seen Paul 5 or so times. I really wanted to take my daughters. They really like our old folks music.
To be fair I am paying $160 a seat for LOVE in Vegas and I have been twice already. I'm also paying $160 for "O". I have seen Wings in concert and probably only paid $50 back in the day. For a small venue I could probably go $400 max.
Paul is the main one. He wrote most of the songs and was the major talent in the group. He is still EXCELLENT in concert as of 2016.
If one can afford it and has never seen him, I promise you won't be sorry.
