I disagree with where that old people smell is coming from. After working with the public for years, I think it's more likely coming from clothes not being washed, esp cold weather clothes. I would see older adults in heavy coats covered in pet hair and very smelly. Hats, scarves, coats, these all need to be washed now and then.
As for showering twice a day? I agree with the person who said they have better things to do than get naked and wet in the bathroom.

Second thread today I've seen about personal hygiene. I'm a Nivea guy I guess...I like their shower soaps and lotions. Shea butter, Coconut, Vanilla and so on. I usually slather on some Lubriderm after the shower as well. It gets so damn dry here in CO that you have to stay moisturized or the skin dries out, cracks and itches in the winter. Used to be a morning shower guy, but the last couple years I do it when I get home from work as it seems to make more sense. As for shampoo been using the same one for 20+ years: Tea Tree by Paul Mitchell. A hair stylist told me years ago it's the best. No idea if she was right, but I like the tingle and never have itchy head or dandruff so.....
