Mine was more classical, Halleluiah Chorus, "Paul sat his football at the door" instead of 'Pause at his footfall and adore'
This reminded me of my Catholic cousins...I don't remember what the song is/was, somebody here will know, but they'd sing "..through the night with the light from a bulb". The right lyrics are "through the night with the light from above".
What's the song?

"God Bless America." ".......stand beside her, and guide her, through the night with the light.... (pick your ending, LOL). I remember singing about the light from a bulb when I was a kid too!
Not a song but when I was small and said the Lord's Prayer, and got to the Hallowed be they name, I thought it was Howard be they name, and I would say God has the same last name as me, since Howard was my maiden name. the adults always got a good laugh over that one.
These are great! Also- From Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl-“goin’ down on the old man with a transistor radio” ( instead of “Going down in the old mine...”).
Men At Work, Who Can It Be Now: "I like it here with my childhood friends..." I had a friend who heard, "I like it here with my chocolate friends." I think I would too.

Did anyone else used to sing, "God Bless My Underpants"?
And do you mean to tell me it's not the wife of a clothes pin?
I, too, used to sing, "one horse soap in sleigh." Sudsy ride.
Since I was a little kid I always thought the lyric said "wrapped up like a douche" but the lyric is "wrapped up like a deuce" I thought they were just trying to be funny.
Van Halen "Running with the Devil"
I always thought the lyric was "I've got no love, no love in Korea" but the lyric is "I've got no love, no love you'd call real"
The Who "Eminence Front" this is an odd one that a friend told me. The chorus goes "Eminence Front, its a put on" but my friend thought it was "Living is fun, its a put on"
That is what i like about Country/Western music. I usually have no trouble understanding the lyrics.
