At what age you decided that an over-night red-eye flight is no longer good for you?

try spending some more money on a ticket if you want more comfort on a flight...

this is more of a question on how old you can get before you cant stand the lack of comfort from being as cheap as possible

It depends on if you are an early bird or night owl. Not age. Red eye flights are at non peak times. If they jive with your body clock-age doesn’t matter.

Depends on the person and the destination. For long flights overseas, sometimes red-eye flights are best. Last time I flew into Heathrow I took a red-eye and my flight landed at 9pm (after a connection) - headed to the hotel, went to sleep and woke up the next morning feeling almost human.

Because my home airport is a small one and I am likely to have a connecting flight in or out, on domestic flights I rarely pick the last flight of the day, just because if it is canceled then I am stuck somewhere overnight (or longer).

Red eyes don't bother me if it's straight through - 2+ hr waits waiting for connecting flights are what I hate.

My concern would be deep vein thrombosis blood clots, especially if I slept for 6-8 hours in a seated position. Even on a regular flight, I get up and go to the restroom once a flight and do some leg and feet stretching exercises for flights over two hours or so. Being age 65 or over puts you at moderate risk for blood clots.

2 hours----count your blessings! From our regional airport to get on a flight from Quito to the States, is a 5 to 9 hour wait for the connection. SIGH.

Really so not fun. At any age. I see the backpackers asleep on the floor, head on pack. Hard to fall asleep with all that luggage to protect.

I'm 71, prefer overnight flights and just took a red eye from Phx to NY non-stop. 5 hours give or take. Return trip was an evening flight so it was already dark when the plane took off. I paid $80 extra to JetBlue for seats at the front of the plane with extra leg room plus the ease of getting on and off the plane first and getting first dibs on the overhead compartments. Thankfully, not too many want to pay the extra money so there were empty center seats up front while the rest of the plane was packed.
