If you Google Windiest Cities in the U.S., you may learn a lot. Last time I looked, Cheyenne WY was #1 @ 13.9MPH, average annual windspeed. Las Vegas @ 9.2MPH, The least windy big cities in the U.S. are Phoenix and L.A. which are tied at 6.2MPH. Lowest of all: Medford OR @ 4.5MPH.

As you can see from the map Chicago is Not the Windy City. Chicago received that reputation from visiting journalists, who witnessed Chicagoans being over-windy about praising their city.

A fun read. There seems to be quite the disagreement on the topic.

What we love about Reno, is "The Reno PepperMill Casino/Hotel". The good folks there would comp us a suite, yearly of 2-4 nights. Sometimes we got lucky on video Poker.
We have had many good times & memories...We enjoyed some wonderful shows.

In the summer, the wind feels pretty good when it's 100 degrees.

Pretty windy in southern Utah. One of my crappy 100+ year old sheds finally collapsed this year.
