I know we have a few members who just love insects so I thought I would post this picture of a Giant Moth that landed on my front porch today. It was the size of a small bird!

Isn't it cute?

Wow that is huge! We have a Green Moth that is pretty big around our house (South of Greensboro) but I don't think it's that big.

I took this picture of a luna moth last year. It was gorgeous, and I wish I could see more of them. It was about 3 or 4 inches wide, and 5 or 6 inches long. The picture doesn't really convey its size very well. It got my attention because its wings made so much noise as they were flapping around.

Cool! I would have loved to see that little critter up close!

The most fascinating moth I've ever seen is the hummingbird clearwing moth.

I managed to snap a pic of one at my old house. He (she?) LOVED our butterfly bush and we'd see this little thing every couple days. We always thought it was a humming bird until we got a good look at it in the pic and realized it was not a bird. It was VERY quick and sporadic in flight.

I've never posted a pic before so if this doesn't work maybe someone could help me out...
