There's a turnover of a long-term local business.

I hope this doesn't mean dealership markups over MSRP on Leith vehicles now. This is one of the few things Leith was always proud of in their commercials.

That’s unfortunate to see. In my experience they were good to do business with as opposed to Hendrick. I guess the next generation didn’t want to be in the family business.

Probably got an offer they couldn't refuse.

Yes. The only dealership that my neighbor found that didn't have markups on a new Kia Telluride.

Bummer. Just cross-shopped the new Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid at three local dealers -Hendrick, Anderson, and Leith. It is a very popular vehicle and all three had some "add-ons"/mark-ups; but, Leith, by far, had the fewest. They were also the easiest to deal with -just like their ads say "It's easier here".

Agree I've purchased a few vehicles from Leith and they usually have good pricing.

It'll be interesting to see if those policies change.

With the exception of certain halo cars or limited new production vehicles the market doesn't support markups over MSRP anymore. If someone is paying that, then shame on them for not shopping harder. Even Toyota dealers' lots are filling up with inventory (based on my last trip to the Apex Costco).

Most manufacturers have jacked their MSRPs tremendously as well (especially in the truck space), so paying over MSRP is a recipe to be hugely upside down in a vehicle. But does make leasing an attractive option if you can find a manufacturer who discounts heavily, since residual value is based on MSRP. [You can lease a RAM 1500 Bighorn for roughly the same price you could before the pandemic, it's just the MSRP on that vehicle was $40K in 2019, but is $60k in 2024 - but the monthly lease payment is in the $400-500 range depending on exact configuration due to the level of discounting].
