Thanks for the cap info, I like Spotrac better than Over the Cap. This is why the early SB, playoff teams predictions are tough. Teams have FAs, can they sign the ones they want or not?
Teams that have their core "D" and "O" players already will be in better shape. I love FA and the draft, see what teams do.
Have to laugh at these early lists. Sports Illustrated had Eagles at 9 and Packers at 10. Their list included Miami which pushed Philly to 9. One that makes me smile is Dallas, they get the hype, regardless of the fact, what have they done lately in the playoffs???
Addition: Draft Kinds has Philly 8, Pack 9 and Dallas 10, that's more like it, sorry Cowboy fans. I think this year will be a tough one, unless Zimmer works some "D" magic.
Is Vegas giving odds on whether or not Taylor Swift will still be a thing next season? She has a habit of being a serial dater; quickly moving on from one chap to the next. Let's hope so.

Assuming a $245m cap, six teams have at least $60m in current cap space for 2024, so generally some room to keep their current players, sign extensions, maybe add a big piece or two. Rounding off:
--Washington $84m
--Tennessee $72m
--New England $67m
--Houston $62m
--Indianapolis $62m
--Cincinnati $61m
21 teams have between $42m and -$27m.
Five teams have -$31m to -$86m. Some will be able to mask a lot of that by turning salary into bonus and spreading that over several years, or cutting underperformers, but they're generally going to have to cut real value.
--Denver -$31m
--Chargers -44m
--Miami -$51m
--Buffalo -$57m
--New Orleans -$86m
New Orleans seems to be at or near the bottom of this list every year, and they somehow always manage to put a competitive product on the field. 86m seems a ton though. Buffalo's biggest contract problem is Von Miller...coming off an ACL tear, he had maybe 3 tackles all year (!), not to mention 0 sacks. He makes money befitting of the superstar he once was

Spotrac was founded by a guy from the Buffalo area, so I'm partial to it too. Several years ago, just before Spotrac 'became a thing', I played indoor soccer against a team named for the then-unknown website. I remember asking one of the guys on that squad what a spotrac was, lol. Think the founder had a family member on the team

I had to look at where NO's money was going.. Carr's cap hit goes from 7.5M this year to 35M next year to 45M in 2025. Ouch.
Jameis Winston will have a $10M cap hit and he's not even under contract.
They're not really even the worst. The Chiefs.. the top 3 contracts on their team are taking up 45% of their cap space. Mahomes, Thuney and Taylor. The Saints are only about 35%
Yeah, those Bengals and Burrow, plus what about the Eagles? I think 2024 is going to be interesting, partly because of '23, expected teams in the SB but all playoff teams had some losses that were unexpected, even in season.
Two teams that had bad luck 2023 seasons that in my opinion should be in the mix for next season are the Bengals and Cardinals.
If you add them.. Who do you subtract?
On the NFC side.. I'd probably go Cowboys.
AFC.. Dolphins? Bills? Steelers? Browns?
