United Express is coming to the Prescott airport. We are very excited since we fly United a lot. Hopefully we will now be able to fly directly out of Prescott instead of driving down to Phoenix.

I saw that, starting the end of August.
I wonder how much it will cost?
In the past, tickets from here were expensive.

The Courier is now pay-walling. Here are some details:

Although the specifics for United Express/SkyWest’s service from the Prescott Municipal Airport are still being finalized, tentative details include:

• Denver flights are expected to depart Prescott at 9 a.m. and depart Denver for Prescott at 12:30 p.m., daily, Sunday through Saturday.

• Los Angeles flights will depart Prescott at 1:50 p.m. and depart LAX at 8:15 p.m. The flights will occur Sunday through Friday (no Saturday service).

• Average fares for the two destinations were estimated in the airline’s proposal at $87. The exact fares are expected to become public no later than Monday, July 23.

• SkyWest expects that staffing at the Prescott Airport would include 12 to 13 people.

• United Express will use 50-seat CRJ-200 jets for the service. The flights will include flight-attendant service.

• The CRJ-200 aircraft features a lavatory in the back.

• City officials say reservations for the flights will be made through United Airlines’ website (united.com) – not SkyWest.

• The City of Prescott plans to launch a marketing strategy in coming weeks to let the region know about the new air service. The city has retained CRAF 2M, a local marketing company led by Cadu Medina.

Brian, thanks for that info. I checked the Courier's website daily just to keep up to date on the goings-on in the Quad Cities, but now I can no longer read any articles unless I subscribe. I'm debating whether I will do that or not.

Like I said previously, having the flights out of Prescott Airport to LAX is one of the attractions for us since our sons live in Orange County.

Thanks again.

You're welcome! I subscribed. I think it's well worth the money ($50/yr), since I read many of the articles every day.

$87 round trip to Denver? I'm sold, better than having to drive and spend money on gas.

I'm going to guess $87 each way... Still reasonable, though.

Based on what the courier showed the other day, I don't see prices any cheaper than the old airlines. I looked at flights the first part of Sep and found round trips around $200 or over although with the new subscriber stuff I can no longer see the article.
From here to LA I would just drive. Then again I am not nuts about flying today anyway. You can save money by driving to Sky Harbor then you have that costs and parking to pay for too.
But flights out of Phoenix are far more frequent and offer many more destinations too.
I booked a flight recently to get to a cruise and advance payment of parking at a discount was still $86 for a week off property with a shuttle service.
It would have cost more than that for my wife and I to take the shuttle down too.

I have been using Prescott eNews. https://www.prescottenews.com/

Does anyone now what the situation is regarding parking at the airport? Looking at the airport website, it appears there are only 30-50 spaces available. Hate to buy a ticket, drive over, and find no parking spaces available.
