I am looking to take 3 teenage girls (11, 14 and 14) for 2 nights at the beach. Last year we went to Cocoa Beach. Cocoa Beach felt old and run down, including the hotel and restaurants. I would like to find something a little more upscale. Vero Beach hotels seems very nice, but maybe too upscale for what we are looking for. Can anyone recommend a beach and/or hotel that would fit for what we are looking for. A place that has nice restaurants. Not looking for diners, but not looking for fancy. Something in between. If they have some activities like miniture golf would be nice too, but not necessary.

I live in Tampa, so I don't want to travel too far up or down from Cocoa Beach. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I second this. I've had friends with young kids come visit and stay there and they had a great time. Quite a variety of housing options too....you can get a standard style hotel room or one that is more like a condo with full kitchen, etc.

Would Melbourne Beach be nicer than Cocoa Beach?

Stuart might be a bit too far. Cocoa Beach is only 2 hours drive. Stuart is 3 hours drive. It might be worth the extra hour drive though.

Okay, okay! I made reservations for the Marriott Beach Resort and Marina on Hutchinson Island. I assume that is the hotel you were referring to. I typed in the Marriott Indian River Plantation and the Marriott Beach Resort kept coming up.

Yes - that sounds right. It's had its name changed several times through the years. I'm sure you'll like it! When are you going?

It's nice. Close to downtown Stuart, too, for shopping.
