We are in Sarasota area—going to come into Port St Lucie area away from Ian
Anyone out on roads with an idea of how 72 is compared to I-4?
Any areas on 72 that are normally low water areas???
Have never driven that route before—

I had to check a map...lol...it doesn't appear 72 comes as far as St. Lucie County. It will connect in Arcadia to 70 which will get you to PSL. But be warned it is a long drive with a whole lot of nothing.

I totally agree
But traffic is faster after a stop light
1 stop light only and cars were stop and go for miles
Florida roads are so different from Texas ones

Waiting for a report from you. I hope your house is ok, too!
So much TV News is showing us homes that were 3 miles in from the ocean in places. Yikes.
(Maybe more Lee Cty.)
Best wishes.

Very kind—thank you
We are staying on E coast until Sat I think to make sure roads are passable and can get gas if need to
Probably wash clothes tomorrow b4 going home

Daughter and SIL got home about lunch Thursday
Both houses great
No water/wind damage
No trees down and no streets flooded
Pool cages intact
Just no power
So all in all very happy

South of 681 (about mi from our neighborhood) damage started getting lot worse w debris, trees down, flooding
Think 681 was about edge of the eye wall’s higher winds
Venice 41 south to Ft Myers just kept getting worse from reports

So really lucky
Really appreciate first responders and the county/power workers starting to put Paradise back together so people can recover, some faster than others…
