You can pay a lot of people to say anything you want them to say.
Not sure why it took Americans so long to start doing this.
I was in the Philippines once, back about 25 years ago, and I stumbled upon an anti-American military parade/protest. It was back when they hadn’t signed the VFA yet, Visiting Forces Agreement. I was kind of surprised to see something like that, and I started asking around, hey do you all really hate Americans?
Every single response I got was that people either liked America or they were ambivalent about America. So I asked why the protests? I was told those were just poor people who need money and they got paid to walk around in the sun for a couple hours.
So basically, the political opposition to the US Military VFA paid people to protest, even though most protestors didn’t really understand the issue, nor would they benefit in anyway if the VFA never got signed.
This activist program is similar, with the exception that they are taking it further, which is indoctrination while getting paid. They are explaining their programs to the people instead of just setting them free to push an agenda.

A true believer will push the agenda harder.
If you read the website, this isn't being paid to "say" anything. This is a government-backed work program just like many others through American history, one that focuses on a problem and employs citizens to work towards solutions that will benefit society and America at large. There's nothing "activist" about it and no protesting involved.
What a tricky way of getting around the age discriminations issue, without being accused of age discrimination.
"As part of the inaugural class of the American Climate Corps (ACC), you’ll join thousands of young people getting paid to fight the impacts of climate change today, while learning the skills to be part of tomorrow’s clean energy and climate-resilience workforce."
In other words, if you aren't young, don't bother to apply.
More proof that America is every bit as socialist as it is capitalist. And of course, we see the regular band of leftists here defending this. The same bunch that likely rank FDR (our first socialist president) as one of the greatest. Yes, we are all familiar with his work programs. Some of that went towards the greater good I suppose, but by and large, his actions simply prolonged the depression by adding government meddling to the misery. We do have a ton of work to do modernizing America's infrastructure. That would be a much more useful pursuit than installing insulation and solar panels.
