For others like me that did not get the reference, Kayleigh MacEnany referred to Amy Coney Barrett as a "Rhodes Scholar" because she went to Memphis-based Rhodes College. She corrected it when pointed out by a reporter.

So embarrassing. I thought Kayleigh went to Harvard Law? Shouldn't she know what a Rhodes Scholar is?

An example of an Oxford University Rhodes Scholar would be Bill Clinton and Rachel Maddow.

The Rhodes Scholarship is named after Cecil Rhodes, a British mining magnate, and politician in southern Africa.

Cecil Rhodes is disliked by the left for supposedly being a racist and colonialist, and a small statue of Rhodes was recently removed from Oriel College, Oxford.

The Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, is named after Dr. Peyton N. Rhodes who was president of the college for sixteen-year and admitted the first Black students, as well as substantially increasing college facilities. By contrast Dr. Peyton N. Rhodes is well liked even by the left.

In her defense, it's requires all her strength to say some of the nonsense she says about Trump while keeping a straight face.

It's kind of ironic that this happened in light of the recent "I got my start at Delaware State" Biden comment. Right wingers kept demanding that Biden was claiming he falsely claimed he was a student there when he was actually talking about his first political campaign.

In the meantime I'm sure they will come up with something about Kayleigh "saying it in jest" sort of like Trump now claims his disinfectant injection was said in sarcasm.

She went by the notes she had. Simple misstatement, and corrected herself when questioned. Under any other administration this would be a non-issue.

So being an educated idiot is somehow better than graduating from Notre Dame Law and having the respect of every person in her field?
