I can see this being an issue for both sides and it just depends on who is doing the fact checking. To begin with, politicians are notorious for misrepresenting, lying and presenting an alternative reality. That goes for both sides. Obama did it CONSTANTLY and so does Trump. 100% of people are biased, so how can anyone be trusted as a fact checker, as their bias will come into play when fact checking political speech?

I rarely find myself supporting the Zuckster, but he is right on this. I think the lesser of two evils is to put up with political theater from BOTH sides and let people make up their own minds. Otherwise, it is a huge slippery slope. Besides, everyone is already in their political corner, so politicians theater does not move the needle.

Mark Zuckerberg says social networks should not be fact-checking political speech

Fact checkers are usually biased as we have seen with snopes that has almost a zero credibility score. Snopes run by to very obese people on their tv dinner tables was good at dispelling email chains back in 2001 but since then its been just leveraged for one sided political bias.

So where are there fact checker sites that are biased in favor of conservatives and against liberals?

Does it matter? Twitter isn't a government institution; they can "fact check" however they want, as long as it isn't slanderous. First amendment rights apply.

Twitters fact checker has posted many harsh anti-republican messages and called Trump on Twitter a nazi multiple times, despite having Jewish grandkids. Seems like a fact checker should be neutral and objective.

It does open them up to some liable issues now that they are a publisher and not just a vessel.

Also opens them up to criticism of fact checking who and how often and who they don't as much.

They should have just taken Trumps Twitter away when he repeatedly violated their standards and then gave it back.
