I must say I feel sorry for anyone who goes through life with these kinds of burdens.
Perhaps it's time to return to the Founders' original intend by decreasing the federal government and returning more power and responsibilities to the states. Each state can, as intended, take full control of issues such as education, transportation, welfare policy, etc.
Liberals can do as they wish in their states and conservatives in theirs. The federal government would retain control, as intended, over national defense, trade, interstate commerce, monetary policy, etc.
Federal and defense is fine. No way do we need or want to continue the foolish games red states are doing with trade, etc. They can tariff themselves into oblivion and take their money and give it to farmers to make up the difference. Blue states will develop their own economy and their own trade agreements. We have apples and nuts to sell to Asia, we can join a version of the TPP again, we can establish trade with our neighbors and repair the damage done with our allies. We have more in common with Canada than West Virginia.
Again. This is not about political debate. This is accepting that the debate is pointless and a waste of time.

For those that liken socialism to satanism, division would allow them to end public schools, Medicare (only a third paid for by recipient), Medicaid (pays for nursing homes), Social Security, military, FEMA, public roads and infrastructure, etc. No more "wall" for them because that requires eminent domain in addition to the funds to build it.

Women with means tend to find ways while the poor will be the ones forced into such an existence.
As for gays etc. I'm not sure what's meant there - "women will be content to find at least one man to support them"? Most gays I know are extremely affluent. Seriously, they tend to be urban and have more money than the average. But that's beside the point. The question is splitting and I definitely support it.
The whole reason for government and the union was to defend endowed rights against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

It splits the nation into "TAKERS" and "MAKERS". That is the farthest thing from unity in defense of rights. That is government TAKING from one to GIVE to another. NO matter how deserving and pitiful the recipient is, slavery is not a viable remedy to the ills of mankind.
WHICH means that pursuant to current law, the whole socialist system is based on VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION. That few are aware of that fact shows the power of the propaganda ministry.
But go read the law for yourself. And then imagine what happens when the "makers" withdraw consent and the "takers" cannot legally steal their wealth and property.

If the law doesn't require participation, nor punishes non-participants, it's "VOLUNTARY" servitude and sidesteps the ban on involuntary servitude. But if you were misled to presume you could not live, work, or own in your own country without 'the number' and account, you were defrauded... which is legal grounds to revoke your signature and withdraw consent.

A lot has changed since then. Perhaps the North should have just let them secede and save us the trouble. Now, both sides are so hopelessly divided that the divorce would/should be very amicable. Absolutely and that whole "federal should control trade"? Get real. Red states can make tariffs a religion but leave blue states out of it. This whole thing starting with getting out of the TPP which was a mistake. Blue states want normal trade again and they want our allies back too. Splitting will require sacrifices on both sides but would be so so worth it.

With all due respect to RR, he's dead wrong. The compact between the States United and the United States in Congress assembled implies that the People of the United States (no connection with American people) reorganized the government from the perpetual Articles to the more perfect Constitution.

Remember, not all Americans could vote, and ratify that constitution (compact). Those who could not vote, could not be presumed to give consent. Therefore, if we are the "private people" we're not parties to that compact, and if we are people of the individual States, we are not the "people of the United States" who are parties to that compact. In short, without our consent, all that servant government is authorized to do “to” us is serve us. It has no delegated POWER to lead us, rule us, govern us, restrict us, regulate us, or trespass upon our rights.
