Yeah Ford is probably worse with the developing world foreign parts and subassemblies and cost cutting. I had always been a GM guy, but some of the Japanese automakers are better about using 1st world and US parts, although they probably have the advantage of not having their suppliers unionized or stuck with legacy costs like GM was. But GM sort of shedded most of their the union and legacy cost so I'm not sure if that's an excuse anymore either for the developing world sourcing.
