Harter, like thousands of other landowners, doesn’t have much choice. Two days earlier, Harter had been in court trying to stop TransCanada, which had asked a judge to let it exercise eminent domain and force Harter to give it access to his land.
On Earth Day, April 22, ranchers and members of native communities along the proposed route of the Keystone XL Pipeline will arrive in Washington, DC to reject the pipeline and protect their land.
Quote:
If approved, the Keystone XL would cross the Canadian border into Montana and pass through the states of South Dakota and Nebraska to join the southern leg of the pipeline in Kansas. It would traverse privately owned ranches and farms and come within yards of native lands. Crucially, it would pass over the huge Ogalalla aquifer, a major source of fresh water for drinking and irrigation. Opponents of the Keystone XL say that accidents would be a catastrophe, releasing the toxic slurry of tar sands mixed with petroleum components known as bitumen. If spilled, bitumen could despoil the land and water, ruining it for generations to come.
But wait...isnt the right all FOR the keystone pipeline? You know, the one that wont actually create many American jobs, but will ship oil overseas to compete with us lowering our exports?

Yes, the right-wingers support a foreign company coming in and taking land from ranchers through eminent domain! This flies in the face of our constitution! Has Fox News been covering this land grab?

I am wholly opposed to this pipeline. Why can't the oil by shipped via rail? I'm pretty sure there are less accidents over rail, than with pipelines. Too many spills and leaks have happened with pipelines. But, yes, the Right is for the pipeline but it was create many many (temporary) jobs!

How EXACTLY did you think this pipeline was going to go through? No really, I want to know.
Oh, I'm sorry. You have to check first with Fox News or Limbaugh before you can have an opinion.
Kind a right-winger quagmire isn't it?
