I want to enter some photos I took on my iphone into a local competition, but according to the very little I've read, I should have a watermark? copyright? in the digital file so they can't be reproduced. I have someone who knows photoshop and sent me back a copy with a copyright on the face of the photo. I have no luck explaining what I want instead; can you help me?
Do you mean you want an example of a watermark to show the person with Photoshop? If so, you can find them on any photo sharing site like Flickr. You can see them on my photos - https://www.flickr.com/photos/gkphotos79
not really since a cloning tool can cover anything .
internally you have your info stored but externally , meh .you would have to make it very large covering a lot of the picture or put it in a spot hard to clone .
personally i stopped trying , i have one on my photos but it means little
Here's an article on protecting your photos online, but most of these steps just discourage theft, as it's very hard to prevent someone from copying your images if they have no morals.
I usually just upload smaller images, like 900 pixels on the long side and put a watermark on them.
You can enter a non-watermarked version for the contest and put a watermarked version on your website. The contest rules should state whether watermarks are allowed.
Thanks, everyone. A wee bit discouraging, but really helpful.
