I never said that I am "still in a pandemic restricted area." I find it so weird that people just make things up. It's not about an area, per se, but an atmosphere - do you see the videos of people going crazy on planes? That's a new thing. How about super aggressive drivers that openly discuss how they will never stop tailgating or terrorizing others? That's definitely new - before there were a few wild people but they didn't brag about it or literally take over roads with their bullying driving tactics (the bragging I have seen is on social media). Stealing used to be frowned upon, but now people blatantly steal and dare others to stop them - it's a new trend that is causing stores to close or to lock up their stuff. Have you heard of that? In general, the world is a much more hostile place.
I'm surprised I have to try to substantiate that the world has changed due to the collective experiences we all went through during the pandemic. It would have been impossible to escape impact on one's psyche.

The reason I asked where you were was because you said this:
"That's not my experience at all. The 3 years of intensity are not easy for some people to process. I haven't observed anything going "back to normal." I don't think that's possible. The world has changed."
All locations did not go through similar experiences. Some areas only had online school from March through May 2020, that's only 3 months, not 3 years. Then the kids were back at school. Some areas closed down schools for 1 1/2 years.
Our store was only shut down for 3 weeks, after that we worked with the public daily and masks were only required for about 3-4 months. Other areas around the country had longer shutdowns and much longer mask requirements. If you remember, almost all covid regulations were local, so everyone had different guidelines.
My children and grandchildren did not experience anyone dying or getting seriously ill from Covid, thankfully. Just about everyone in the extended family has now had covid, including the great grandparents and we are thankful that everyone had very mild cases.
I have flown multiple times and have driven 40,000 miles since 2020 and have not experienced anything in real life like you have seen on social media.
So I'm just trying to share why we have a different mindset than you. We're just living our normal lives and don't pay attention to the sensational videos of people acting crazy, that's not normal typical behavior.
Hope that helps explain why the children in our family don't have any lingering trauma that we are concerned about.
