There's a couple in my neighborhood...and a couple more that have tipped over or are "out of commission" and just laying down in the yard. Maybe the kids are too old and left home or washed out of basketball?
I live at the end of a a cul de sac and the one that I don't like is not in someone's driveway but actually in "the street". So they've kinda said "not in my driveway" because I guess they want space for all their vehicles. Instead let's crowd the cul de sac with kids and a bouncing ball. I guess the noise level is the same and truth be told doesn't get used that much. Kids don't really play or do anything outside much these days.
When I first moved to my neighborhood there were no hoops, probably because the only kids were very young or were grown. Now that the kids have gotten to teen age and preteen age, there is a hoop on every street; sometimes I’ll come home and find random boys from the apartment complex down the street using our hoop. It’s totally fine, as they are respectful kids.
Definitely HOAs prohibit things in the street like a basketball hoop, not sure whether they are allowed on garages.
Our neighbors with 2 young boys have a hoop in their backyard and it's used by one boy, maybe he'll have friends over as he gets older.
The most common rec item in our hood is trampoline in backyard.
We hear lots of squeals from neighbor kids playing on trampoline on other side. We like kid sounds so no problem.
Yes, kids still have basketball hoops. But not usually in their yards. They work better on concrete or blacktop).
If you are concerned about a shortage of basketball hoops in your community, you are looking in the wrong place (yard). Look for basketball hoops in driveways and cul de sacs.
I live in a townhouse complex. There is an apartment complex and a co-op complex, no sfh's in town, and a park in the center with a playground and basketballcourt at one end. Kids are always shooting hoops over there. Boys, girls, older, younger.
no they use phone kids are not kids anymore they use phone instead
What makes them "not kids"?
Oh never mind, you've been banned.
