Another way of looking at this is that being a single Mom would likely work out way better if women all had the earnings of most single men. Men still typically make more and that extra money would d a hero of a lot for most single Moms. We here an awful lot about poverty stricken single Moms in Appalachia or East LA or the Bronx. We never hear about college-educated single Moms who are professors, lawyers, doctors etc. Their kids generally do just fine.

It’s not that single Moms need a man in the house. They need money in the house.

Yeah, fill an empty house with money and put kids in it - they’ll be fine! Men or women aren’t required!

Duhhhhhhhhh

Are you implying that misogyny is one of the main causes?

Is it 'lack of fathers' or a failure of proper family planning?

Too often the kids come without a relationship (let alone a committed, loving, or married one), without adequate finances, without concern for other family members (esp. older women who may end up doing the lion's share of child care).

Men just want to have fun but women want to have babies even if the only thing they have from a man is his genitals. Both genders have been struggling with family planning for over 50 years. It's almost as bad in the UK.
