Silly and narcissistic on Mom's part but fairly harmless.

As long as this sort of thing ( ie. using baby for Mom's needs/wants for attention) doesn't escalate.

Narcissistic?

Oh please, at that age practically everything beyond meeting the most basic of necessities could be construed as being just for the parents by that logic. Cute but unnecessary outfit? Bow in the hair? Infant shoes? Shampoo mowhawk? Having them hold a prop for a photo?

This mom had some harmless fun and an enjoyable moment with her new child. No big deal. The baby might even have enjoyed the extra attention and watching mom laugh and smile.
